WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT

Monthly Meetings

We are committed to photographic education, both as an art form and as a profession. SPPPA host monthly meetings where other pros from across the country come to share their expertise in lighting, posing, post-production, sales, marketing and more all with one purpose- To make great photographers. By the way, these are FREE with your membership.

FELLOWSHIP

Create a network of like-minded people who care about your success as a person, a photographer and business owner. This is one status update you are sure to like. Members will also be invited to private online community to ask questions, receive feedback and communicate with fellow members in confidence.  We are not all business. Annual Christmas party and social events are also included in your membership.

SEMINARS

In addition to our meetings, the SPPPA also offer a variety of of full-day seminars featuring some of the country's best image makers. Members receive special pricing to these events. Seminars are typically held annually. Check the events page for up to date information.

PRINT COMPETITION

Few things help you grow as an artist like print competition. The SPPPA host an annual PC every spring. Submit up to 10 digital images and then receive invaluable feedback from a panel of trained jurors. Awards and prizes are given. Click here for more info on Print Competition. For entry form and rules, click here.

TEXAS SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

There is no other educational opportunity better than Texas School. Once a year, 35 top pros and 1000 students converge for an intensive week of learning, laughing and fellowship. South Plains PPA wants all photographers to experience the life changing atmosphere of Texas School so each year we award one member with a full tuition scholarship, valued at over $600

AWARDS & Recognition

Everyone likes to be noticed for a job well done. In alignment with PPA and the Texas PPA, South Plains PPA offers awards and degrees for its committed members. Earn points for attending meetings, going to Texas School, paying your dues and entering prints and more. These points turn into degrees and recognition within the photographic community and business world as well. You work hard to do what you do. We think you deserve a pat on the back.

Since beginning her career in professional photography in 2008, Mandy Lynn of in Muskogee, has gained a lot of attention. In last year’s Professional Photographers of Oklahoma conference Mandy nabbed First Place in the Commercial category along with Best Portrait of a Man. That entry went on to win top national awards as well. Proving that her last year’s first showing was no fluke, this year Mandy once again wowed a panel of distinguished national and international photographic judges with her work by again taking Best Portrait of a Man, Best Illustrated/Unclassified, Best of Show and the ultimate, “Oklahoma Photographer of the Year.” In national competition, she has created award winning work and earned the Master of Photography degree. Seen often around the Muskogee community with a camera in her hand shooting for a variety of magazines and publications, Mandy has most recently been backstage at numerous local events such as covering shows for the Swon Brothers, from NBC’s The Voice, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and more.
